Q: What do we do if the weather forecast looks bad for our hunt?

In the case of poor hunting conditions (heavy rain, snow storm, high heat, etc.), we will call and recommend that you reschedule your hunt. We want your hunting experience at Woods and Meadow to be enjoyable and successful.

Q: What does Woods and Meadow need from me in order to book a hunt?

Once you select the morning or afternoon on an available date, all we need is your name, phone number, whether you have your own dog or need a guide and dog, and the number of birds you would like released (this number can be changed later). No deposit necessary.

Q: Do we need a pheasant hunting license to hunt at Woods and Meadow?

No. Woods and Meadow has a hunting preserve license that covers the business and farms.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book a hunt?

It depends. Plan a few weeks to a month in advance for a weekend hunt in the fall. Weekdays can usually be booked a week or two before. Sometimes we have cancellations, so it never hurts to call.

Q: I’ve never shot sporting clays before. What do I do?

This is not a problem! One of our employees will take you out on the course and show you how it works, just to get you started.

Q: How long does it take to shoot the course?

It depends on how many people you have and how many targets you shoot. For 4 people to shoot 50 targets each, it will take about 1.5 hours. The same group shooting 100 targets each will probably take 2-2.5 hours.

Q: Do we have to pay for broken targets and show targets?

We take pride in our course and our equipment. Mechanical issues can occur, but they are rare. We take off 5% of your cost to cover broken targets (if you have any) and a few of the show pairs.

Q: Can you shoot by yourself?

Yes. Our Long Range target counter system has the ability to set a delay. Once set, when you press the button to fire a target, it will delay however many seconds you choose before it throws the targets.

Q: Do you rent golf carts?

Yes. Golf carts are $35 to rent. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to bring your own ATV, UTV, or golf cart. The trail is gravel and is very walkable.
